My name is Anna Linscheid and I am the Director at Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool. I joined the school in January of 2010 and have been integrating myself and my style into the school steadily. I came from nine years in the corporate world of IT sales. I have worked for CDW as well as DELL and other smaller IT firms in the area over the years.
Early Childhood Education has been my passion ever since I can remember and it took many years of nurturing that dream to have it finally come to fruition and bring me to Purple Moose. My experience as a teacher allows me a solid understanding of the educational needs of our school. The business background gives me a stronghold on running this school efficiently and effectively. The combinations of the two strength produce an exemplary result for the families we serve and work with. I am proud of the school we run and of the program that has been established and evolved for over the last 33 years. The teachers and I welcome visitors in to experience all that we have to offer.
This school year marks my 19th year teaching at Purple Moose Preschool. I am very excited to still be part of the Purple Moose Family. My education was completed at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and have been teaching preschool for over 30 years.
My husband and I have raised 3 wonderful children in Crystal Lake. When the children were growing up, we spent a lot of time volunteering at school functions, scouts and community choir.
I am looking forward to the privilege of meeting your children and watching them learn and grow!
I am very excited to be teaching the Adventurers class. I believe that during the preschool years, it is very important to establish a positive and encouraging learning environment. My experience in Education comes from a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University - and 30 years of teaching 3's, 4's, 5's, and Kindergarten. My husband Rob and I live in Crystal Lake with our sweet dog "Oscar". We have two adult children. Our son Aaron, his wife Steph, grandchildren Ella (6), Jack (4), and Duke ( 3 months) live in New York City. Our daughter Ashley lives and works in Chicago.
Hi, my name is Cathy Johnson and this will be my first year here at Purple Moose. I have the good fortune of working with the Explorers and I am very excited to meet all the children and their families.
I am married with 4 children and I have 5 grandchildren ages 14 years to 6 months old. My husband Mike served in the Navy for 20 years so we have had the opportunity to move around quite a few times. We finally retired here in Crystal Lake to be close to family.
I have always had a passion for teaching and have been blessed to be able to work in this profession for about 30 years now. Throughout my years in teaching I have cared for children from infants through preschool. I currently hold a CDA and am teacher qualified.
My name is Carlie Patton and I am happy to be joining the Purple Moose family. I live in Crystal Lake with my husband Jeff and our son Tyson. I have been lucky enough to be involved in volunteering for his schools PTO , Classroom Mom, and pretty much anything they ask. I have also been teaching at our towns YMCA preschool - maybe I have seen you working out and being healthy! I am looking forward to a great school year teaching in the Explorer's Classroom and welcoming you with a smile.
Hi! My name is Alisha. My family and I just moved to Woodstock this summer from the South Suburbs. I have two daughters, an 8yr old and a 10yr old, who are loving all of the lakes, nature, and open spaces that our new home has to offer. Before relocating, I was a Teacher's Aide for both preschool and pre-K - and I was a regular sub in the Kindergarten thru third grade classrooms. I am very excited to be joining the Purple Moose family and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.
Hi! My name is Alex Benn! I am currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, where I am studying Elementary Education with a minor in Social Studies. I transferred to the University of Wisconsin Whitewater after achieving my Associates of Arts at McHenry County College, emphasizing education. When my courses and field work became virtual, I sought out an opportunity to work with students in-person. This is my first year teaching at the Purple Moose, and I am incredibly grateful to begin this journey with such a great support system. I have dreamed about pursuing a career in education since I was a young girl, begging my younger brothers to be my students and play "school". As a highschooler, I began volunteering as a Religious Education teacher for 1st grade at my local parish. This glimpse into the classroom affirmed my already present passion to teach. I am humbled to be an addition to the preschool, helping to build the foundation of young minds, and look forward to all of the adventures we will have together!
My name is Amie Struthers, and I have been a substitute teacher for Purple Moose for the past two years. I am very excited to be joining the staff full-time in the Fall of 2020 as the teacher for the Adventurer’s class. I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an emphasis in early childhood from Illinois State University. Over the years I could have taught up through Junior High, but I have always focused on my favorite age groups from Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade. That is just another reason why it is so special for me to be part of Purple Moose’s extended family. To share a little more of my background, I grew up in central Illinois (area code ‘815’) but have also lived in Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma over the past 25 years. In 2017, my husband and I, and our three children were thrilled to return to Illinois when we moved to Crystal Lake. Our oldest two are in college, and our youngest has another year of high school.
My name is Kimberley Bates, and I am thrilled to join the Purple Moose team this year! I have been blessed with four nieces and nephews who are now 18, 14, 13 and 11. They are my world and have been ever since the days they were born. I have an Associate in Science degree from McHenry County College. When I was recently laid off from my job as a beauty consultant due to Coronavirus, I felt a call to work for families who are juggling so many things during these crazy times. Now I am here and will do my best every day to bring joy and light to your precious little ones.
