My name is Anna Linscheid and I am the Director at Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool. I joined the school in January of 2010 and have been integrating myself and my style into the school steadily. I came from nine years in the corporate world of IT sales. I have worked for CDW as well as DELL and other smaller IT firms in the area over the years.
Early Childhood Education has been my passion ever since I can remember and it took many years of nurturing that dream to have it finally come to fruition and bring me to Purple Moose. My experience as a teacher allows me a solid understanding of the educational needs of our school. The business background gives me a stronghold on running this school efficiently and effectively. The combinations of the two strength produce an exemplary result for the families we serve and work with. I am proud of the school we run and of the program that has been established and evolved for over the last 33 years. The teachers and I welcome visitors in to experience all that we have to offer.
This school year marks my 19th year teaching at Purple Moose Preschool. I am very excited to still be part of the Purple Moose Family. My education was completed at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and have been teaching preschool for over 30 years.
My husband and I have raised 3 wonderful children in Crystal Lake. When the children were growing up, we spent a lot of time volunteering at school functions, scouts and community choir.
I am looking forward to the privilege of meeting your children and watching them learn and grow!
I am very excited to be teaching the Adventurers class. I believe that during the preschool years, it is very important to establish a positive and encouraging learning environment. My experience in Education comes from a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University - and 30 years of teaching 3's, 4's, 5's, and Kindergarten. My husband Rob and I live in Crystal Lake with our sweet dog "Oscar". We have two adult children. Our son Aaron, his wife Steph, grandchildren Ella (6), Jack (4), and Duke ( 3 months) live in New York City. Our daughter Ashley lives and works in Chicago.
I beginning my 6th year at The Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool. As a mother of 6, I have spent a great deal of my time volunteering at various schools, scouting clubs, and sports organizations throughout District 47 and 155. In this time I have been both fortunate and unfortunate enough to experience 1st hand how the role of the people we entrust our children with during a school day truly does impact their lives. I feel very strongly that here at Purple Moose children are given a wonderful 1st experience into their careers as students, and I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to be a part of that.
While my education and work experience up to this point has primarily been focused on Behavioral Health I find my passion was always in the volunteering I had done and education. Having spent the last 20 plus years both working and staying at home to raise children I have also assisted in being the cofounder and Director of operations and finances for a non for profit organization.
Currently I am living in the Crystal Lake area with my husband while my children are in and entering their adult lives in the working world and college. We keep quit busy caring for our many animals including chickens, horses, dogs, cats, fish, and a bearded dragon. I enjoy spending time with my animals and family (especially my 2 Granddaughters who are now Mooslets) gardening, reading, working on our family farm and of course spending mornings at the Purple Moose.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet new families interested in beginning their children's career as a student.
