Our Staff

Anna Linscheid - Director

My name is Anna Linscheid and I am the Director at Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool. I joined the school in January of 2010 and have been integrating myself and my style into the school steadily. I came from nine years in the corporate world of IT sales. I have worked for CDW as well as DELL and other smaller IT firms in the area over the years.

Early Childhood Education has been my passion ever since I can remember and it took many years of nurturing that dream to have it finally come to fruition and bring me to Purple Moose. My experience as a teacher allows me a solid understanding of the educational needs of our school. The business background gives me a stronghold on running this school efficiently and effectively. The combinations of the two strength produce an exemplary result for the families we serve and work with. I am proud of the school we run and of the program that has been established and evolved for over the last 28 years. The teachers and I welcome visitors in to experience all that we have to offer.

Joanne Olson

My name is Joanne Olson and I have been teaching at Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool for 13 years.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in Parks and Recreation.  My student teaching was in a preschool setting and I have had the pleasure of teaching, at this level, for over 25 years.  I am excited to be teaching the M, W, F 3/4's Trailblazer class. I live in Crystal Lake with my husband and 3 children.

Kathy Dillon

I am very excited about teaching the Adventurers class.  I believe that preschool years are very important in establishing a positive and encouraging environment for education. My experience in Education comes from Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University and 28 years of teaching 3's, 4's, 5's, & Kindergarten.

My husband Rob and I live in Crystal Lake with our sweet dog "Oscar".  We have two adult children.  Our son Aaron, his wife Steph, Ella (5), and Jack (3) live in New York City.  Our daughter Ashley lives and works in Chicago.

Joanne Heck

Miss. Joanne TA

My name is Joanne Heck and I beginning my 3rd year at The Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool.  As a mother of 6, I have spent a great deal of my time volunteering at various schools, scouting clubs, and sports organizations throughout District 47 and 155. In this time I have been both fortunate and unfortunate enough to experience 1st hand how the role of the people we entrust our children with during a school day truly does impact their lives. I feel very strongly that here at Purple Moose children are given a wonderful 1st experience into their careers as students, and I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to be a part of that.

While my education and work experience up to this point has primarily been focused on Behavioral Health I find my passion was always in the volunteering I had done and education. Having spent the last 23 years both working and staying at home to raise children I have also assisted in being the cofounder and Director of operations and finances for a non for profit organization.

Currently I am living in the Crystal Lake area with my husband we have 1 child remaining at Prairie Ridge high school and 5 starting their adult lives in the working world and college.  We keep quit busy caring for our many animals including chickens, ducks, geese, horses, dogs, cats, fish, Iguana and bearded dragon. I enjoy spending time with my animals and family (especially my new Granddaughter) gardening, reading, working on our family farm and of course spending mornings at the Purple Moose.

     Wendy Sessler

My name is Wendy Sessler.  I am excited to say that this will be my 11th year teaching at

Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know

all the families. I have an Early Childhood Degree from Roosevelt University.  I teach the Naturalists

program, Explorers program and the Enrichment Program.

Recently,  I have moved to Crystal Lake with my three children.

Maureen Zurek

My name is Maureen Zurek and I am excited and enthusiastic about continuing working for Purple Moose Enrichment Pre-school, as a substitute teacher’s assistant.  As a mother of three, I have spent many hours volunteering and organizing VBS, teacher appreciation week, book fairs, luncheons, summer camps and many others.

My  work experience  as a pre-school assistant  for the past six  years is  with a local church affiliated pre-school, working primarily with two, four and five year old children.  At an early age, my love for children began with child care for many Crystal Lake families, then to a home day-care for six years.  As a pre-school assistant, I have completed the required DCFS hours in early education yearly.

Being raised in a family with three siblings, I learned early in life how important it is for children to have a good start in life by being surrounded by good role models, caring and loving individuals.  What we do as teachers, truly impacts a child’s life.

I live in Crystal Lake with my husband Larry, our two daughters, Kelsey at CLCHS, Kortney at RBMS, and our Maltese, Gordon.  I am also a Nana of two, Hailey and Jace.

I feel honored and privileged to be part of Purple Moose Enrichment Preschool in my hometown!  I look forward to sharing my creativity, enthusiasm and dedication with your children this year!.

Danelle Byrne

My name is Danelle Byrne, I've been working with children since the age of 16. I have my 32 hour certificate in early childhood education.

Before coming to purple moose I worked at McHenry county college for close to 10 years.

I have been married for six years and have a two year old little girl.

Teaching children isn't just a job. It's something I've always enjoyed doing. I couldn't see myself doing anything else. They bring such joy and laughter and watching them learn and grow throughout a school year gives me all I need as a teacher to know that the profession I choice was the perfect one!

I feel lucky to be apart of such a wonderful team and preschool at Purple Moose and looking forward to all the opportunities that     Purple Moose brings!
